North Dakota Fishing & Hunting Reports
With low river levels paddlefishing should be very good. If we get the numbers of fishermen we could have a quick fill of the quota. Season will kick off on Friday, May 1st and run until an estimated 1000 fish are caught. Rooms in Williston have come down some and are much more available but I would recommend booking ahead of time to make sure you have a spot to stay. I have not been out to look but heard the Pumphouse parking lot has been worked over. Look forward to seeing all of our snagging friends!

Smelt started running on Thursday but the cool weather we had this weekend slowed it down again. Nothing has happened at White Earth yet, most of the smelt activity has been between Lund's and Red Mike.

Walleyes are still being caught from the shore and boats at the river and lake. Pike have spawned and may be even done by now, do not think the walleyes have started yet but have to be close.

Walleye fishing in the lake has slowed down as they are spawning right now. Smelt could take off this week again as we are suppose to see warmer temps.

Does any one have a fish count? I have heard paddlefishing is going to close early and i am trying to plan a trip and wondering if i should head out tomorrow instead of Wednesday.
